Routers - Manual, Pin

Manual pin routers are made up of both top and bottom working routers that are not electronically programmable. These machines generally have a fixed table and a ball bearing just below and around the router bit that follows a jig to allow creation of predetermined component shapes to be cut from master blanks. The blanks can be either panels or solid wood components. Some machines have power feeding rollers that advance the jig containing the blank through the router bit. Other machines are fed manually. Generally speaking, with the continual advancement of CNC control machines, manual pin routers are becoming less popular and are generally becoming limited to use in smaller shops.
